Mrs. Middle East International®

Armaiti Shahidi Fitzgerald - Mrs International 2009

1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
I am passionate and dedicated about everything I do. I take the role of Mrs. International® as a full time commitment. Through my own Fight Oral Cancer Foundation and working with The American Cancer Society, lives are saved. I understand the importance of women to positively impact future generations.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
I lost my mother to undetected heart disease at an early age. Therefore, I stepped into the role of parenting my brothers, way before my time. This experience helped me mature faster and develop a different appreciation for family values and commitments as I am still helping my youngest brother.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
Staying healthy is a lifestyle. In addition to eating a healthy diet, my husband and I love adventurous physically active trips. I enjoy learning new sports. I even became a certified diver within three days of our honeymoon after being stung by a jellyfish on my first dive.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
“Say what you mean and mean what you say” is a guideline in my family. My husband and I believe in God first and practice the principles of honor, honesty and integrity. We stress the value of respecting oneself and demonstrating respect towards others in our actions and words.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
“Eat desert first, life is short” works for me. I don’t eat a lot of desert but a meal is not complete to me without a small bite of sweets to clean my palate. I believe under three bites the calories do not count, at least at my house.
