1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
When my husband and I were just married, we spent a lot of time together. We would go out on dates and talk long into the night. We would have so much fun that we would lose track of time. Once we walked under the night’s sky because we would missed the lost train home. That night is still one of my best memories.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
We need to think about food that has less impact on the global environment. We can reduce food loss by making more preserved food that do not spoil. In Japan, it is common to peal fruit before eating them. We can futrhes reduce food loss by eating fruits and vegetables without peeling them. We can also reduce the amount of washing up, using less detergent and water by steaming food instead of frying it in oil. These small actions can make the world more sustainable. It allows us to enjoy seasonal foods for years to come, so even small efforts are important to us. We also eat with health and beauty in mind by taking in the nutrients of the foods we eat. We make veggie broth by simmering pumpkin seeds and onion skins, and we should be conscious of utilizing fermented seasonings such as miso and soy sauce, which are Japanese traditions, to become beautiful and healthy from the inside out. This is because health is an essential foundation for our happiness. These small actions are achievable, and very important for me.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
Sometimes people think of me as a reliable. Because I am a school teacher. Of course, sometimes I make a series of careless mistakes. For this year's World Pagent, I once booked the wrong ticket for the Tricity Airport in Washington State instead of Tri-City Airport in Tennessee! I am not, in fact, reliable, because I have poor sense of direction and can get lost on the wrong side of the road. (My strength is that I can love my shortcomings as well.)

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
In order to support people working to protect cats, I came up with the idea of a charity project in which I would come up with recipes that would improve health and beauty, and donate the proceeds from my cooking lessons to the charity. I called on my friends, teamed up, and launched it as an event. We have been continuing our activities reaching out to women all over Japan. Through the involvement of various people from planning to management, I became convinced that 'giving shape to your passion can be a great social contribution.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
I have tried a lot of things, such as bungee jumping, skydiving, and going to Alaska to see the Northern Lights by myself, but one thing I am still too afraid to do is to travel around the world. I would like to make it happen, not on a tour, but on myself. I would like to get out of Japan, visiting all the continents. Like the main character in "Eat, Pray, Love," I would like to challenge myself. To enjoy the world's delicious food to my heart's content and to enjoy the people I meet on my travels.
